Rugby in the Eastern Cape has once again become the tallest poppy in the field with the announcement that the Southern Kings will be playing Super Rugby in 2013. Many is the ‘foreign’ rugby supporter that believes that Eastern Province rugby doesn’t deserve this chance. And, many teams will be travelling down to our neck of the woods to try and show SARU that they ‘made a mistake’. No matter – this is frontier country this, we know how to fight battles and win.
Unlike last year, I am expecting the number of black and red supporters to surpass the number of blue supporters on Saturday.
