28 March 2026 by Rugby News

The DHL Stormers scored five tries on their way to a 33-14 win against Edinburgh at DHL Stadium on Saturday night.

The bonus point win sees the DHL Stormers stay in second place on the Vodacom URC standings, as the competition heads into a two-week break for Investec Champions Cup knock-outs.

The home side were down to 14 early on when prop Ntuthuko Mchunu was shown a yellow card for an infringement at a maul. Despite that, they did not concede any points while he was off the field and although there were two penalties missed by Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu they were still first to score.

The pressure on the Edinburgh defence eventually told as Evan Roos powered over for the try and they were looking to add another when an intercept in the 22 saw Edinburgh centre James Lang run the length of the field to score against the run of play.

That saw the teams go into half-time deadlocked at 7-7, although the DHL Stormers had looked in control for the first 40 minutes.

The home side were first to strike in the second half as a deadly counter-attack saw Leolin Zas go over for the try to put them back in front.

Edinburgh hit back with a try from Springbok prop Boan Venter, who forced his way over from close range to give them the lead for the first time at 14-12 with 20 minutes left.

The DHL Stormers responded with two tries to take control of the match as Warrick Gelant gave the final pass for Mchunu and then Roos to steam over and secure the bonus point.

There was time for one more as Deon Fourie scored on the final whistle to put an exclamation on what was a dominant performance in the end.
