Vodacom Blue Bulls prop Dean Greyling was suspended for one week after he was found guilty of foul play in the Absa Currie Cup Premier Division match between the Vodacom Blue Bulls and the Xerox Golden Lions on Saturday 9 August in Johannesburg.
Greyling was charged with having committed an act of foul play, in contravention of rule 10.4(b), that states ‘a player must not stamp or trample on an opponent’. The incident in the 69th minute of the match at Ellis Park involved Golden Lions prop Jacques van Rooyen.
The hearing took place on Wednesday, 13 August in Cape Town and the Judicial Officer, advocate André Oosthuizen found Greyling guilty of contravening Rule 10.4(b) and imposed a one week suspension, commencing from the date of the hearing. Greyling is therefore available for selection this weekend.
