A Disciplinary Panel will meet in Edinburgh on Wednesday, October 10 to consider the red-card decision against Matthew Rea (No 6) of Ulster Rugby which occurred against Connacht Rugby on Friday, October 5, 2018.
The incident occurred in the 41st minute of the Guinness PRO14 Round 6 fixture at Kingspan Stadium (Belfast) when referee Andrew Brace deemed the player to have committed an act of foul play against an opponent (No 23, Cian Kelleher).
The referee showed the player a red card under Law 9.17 – Dangerous Tackling. A player must not tackle, charge, pull, push or grasp an opponent whose feet are off the ground.
The player will face a Disciplinary Panel via video conference, the Panel will comprise of Pamela Woodman (Chair), Kathrine Mackie and Ian Douglas (all Scotland).
