5 November 2025 by Rugby News

Mr Geordin Hill-Lewis, the Mayor of the City of Cape Town, has called on Capetonians and Western Capers to make it a weekend to remember by attending the must-see HSBC SVNS Cape Town, as the one-month-to-go countdown begins on Thursday.

Tickets: HSBC SVNS Cape Town

The 16 best sevens teams will descend on Cape Town for the annual HSBC SVNS event, with two days of action-packed rugby, high-class entertainment and more on the schedule at the DHL Stadium. Tickets, from only R250 per person per day, are available from Ticketmaster – CLICK HERE.

The Springbok Sevens team will run out before their adoring fans not only as the defending champions, but also as the reigning HSBC SVNS World Champions after winning the finale in Los Angeles in May.

Fans can get ready to see star-studded sides such as Fiji and Argentina’s men, Australia’s women and the male and female teams from New Zealand in action, with the draw for the event scheduled to take place after the Emirates Dubai Sevens, the weekend before the Cape Town event.

“The countdown is on to one of the funnest weekends of the year,” said Mr Hill-Lewis, exactly a month before the action starts in Cape Town.

“The HSBC SVNS Cape Town returns to DHL Stadium in Cape Town next month and I can’t wait. Few events bring our city to life quite like the Sevens.

“It’s fast-paced, world-class rugby. An incredible weekend of colour, energy and fun for the whole family. I love it.

“Cape Town is proud to host some of the biggest sporting events on the African continent. And the Sevens is always one of my highlights of our whole event year.

“Whether you’re a lifelong rugby fan or just love a wonderful day out in our city with the family, don’t miss the sevens. Get your tickets now on Ticketmaster.co.za.

“Come dressed in your best sevens outfit. Come and support the Blitzboks and be part of the best sporting atmosphere anywhere in the world. I will definitely be there with my family, and I hope to see you at the sevens on 6 and 7 December 2025.”
