Lawes (left) tangles with Ledesma in Dunedin on Saturday
Courtney Lawes faces an anxious wait to see if he will be cited for two tackles during England’s World Cup victory over Argentina on Saturday.
A player must be cited by the match disciplinary official within 36 hours of the final whistle.
Centre Gonzalo Tiesi suffered suspected knee ligament damage when he was hit by Lawes after kicking the ball.
Mario Ledesma was hit on the head by the second row’s knee as he made a covering tackle on the Pumas hooker.
Meanwhile, James Haskell has apologised for swearing heard on TV microphones.
Haskell reacted angrily after a scuffle in the final seconds of the match and was heard via the referee’s microphone swearing at his alleged assailant.
The 26-year-old has subsequently followed that up with his own message of regret on Twitter.
“Just want to say sorry for the bad language, I clearly shouldn’t of [sic] sworn, bit of pressure out there. Onwards and Upwards,” he wrote.
Haskell had also made suggestions of eye-gouging by an Argentine player but later said: “I got cleared out and had a hand on my face. It was nothing.”
England assistant coach John Wells confirmed: “We have made no complaints about whatever happened then.”
England’s next match is against Georgia on Sunday.
